Mae’s Crafty Creations

Watermellon Kid

I am sharing such a fun card today.  This summer digi image from Shirley’s 2 Girls is such a cutie.  How could you not love that face, those freckles (my son has tons) and his tooth sticking out?  Our twist for this week was to use a summer accessory.  I was stumped for ideas but my lovely design team filled my inbox with ideas and I was able to pick up these ant brads.  I love them.  I do have to say this is my most favorite S2G card to date.  The summer dp is from S2G and is just wonderful. I created this boxed image card from a tutorial over on Splitcoast stampers.

I used last week’s twist again and added orange to pop out the flowers.  Here is a close-up of the image.  I cut him out, colored him with copics and added a touch of glitter with my spica clear pen.  Just a touch of pizzazz.
Thanks for stopping by.  Head over to the store to pick up your image of this cute Watermellon Kid and have some fun with your project.  While you are there you can see all the wonderful digital images and paper packages the store has to offer.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Fun & a SNR Happy Hour

I can’t believe it is Thursday again.  Where did the week go???  Well Sunday our son went off to football camp over in eastern WA.  Their weather is hotter than over on this side of the mountains so I know the Gatorade supply our booster club sent over is being used up.  Nic isn’t that great of a communicator (what 16 year old guy is) so I just get one word responses to my text messages.  When I ask if it is hot…he says YA.  Is he having fun…YA.  I don’t get that.  Must be because I am girl.
Both hubby and son forgot my birthday on Sunday.  I purposely didn’t say a word or leave any hints for them.  Makes a gal feel bad, ya know?  I gave hubby a break and asked him while we were relaxing Sunday afternoon where he was taking me to dinner.  He said what for.  So I waited a bit and asked again.  He just shook his head.  So I then asked him what day it was.  Well you could see the gears turning and after a minute while he verified the date on his watch…he said “it’s your birthday”.  BINGO!!!  So he made up for it in the end & I hope he checks the calendar more often next year.  Nic didn’t get it until I almost spelled it out for him, then the light came on.

Today I have a fun new summer image from Shirley’s 2 Girls.  These summer icons are wonderful.  So fun and useful for so many things.  Perfect for cards as they are but they can be used on your summer scrapbook pages or as a special image with other themes.  Our challenge is to incorporate Orange into our project.  At first I didn’t associate orange with summer…but just looking at a sunset or sunrise how could you not!!!

I cut the images out & matted each one added some ribbon and a sweet charm.  The dp is also from the summer line that the girls created.  The colors are just wonderful.
Join in tonight at SNR for the S2G Happy Hour from 5 to 6 pm PST.  Several of the design team members will be attending with some fun digis and projects.  Bring your favorite drink, imagination and be ready to chat away.  Have a wonderful day and check out the rest of the design team’s creations.  I have them listed on my S2G Design Team tab above.  Have a great Thursday!!!

I am sharing with you Today one of the "NEW" Summer images...

Can't you feel the sand in your toes and the sun beating down on you?  Makes me want to head on over to the beach and soak up some rays.  Our coast actually reached 90 today.  For the Pacific NW that is rare but wonderful when it happens.

Just a closer view of the image.  I tried to give her skin more of a pinkish or sun kissed look.  I could sure use that look right now.  I am quite white but hope to get some sun over the weekend.  I hope to relax, read and enjoy our sons baseball tournament games.

I am excited to see your entries so let your creative juices flow.....!

Exciting News...New Look...& we have grass!!!

To start off I have two very exciting things to share.  I have made my first design team...YEEE HAAWW!!!  I am so thrilled to have been chosen by Shirleys 2 Girls.  These ladies with attitude are wonderful artists that have a love of fur babies & create lovely digital images.  My term is for six months and we will be having a ton of fun that we want you all to join in on.  Check us out this Thursday for some Summer fun - just click on the sidebar link.

I have also been "published".  Suzanne Dean & Marti Wills have a SWEET crafting publication called Through the Craftroom Door that you can subscribe to.  The cost is practically nothing compared to all the great ideas I receive from it.  Suzanne & Marti have created a really fun product to everyone.  So anyway..I am in their latest July/August issue.  I submitted a gift set and now my little ole name has been printed!  Who would have thought!!!!

What do you think of my new blog look?  I was hopping around one evening and ended on heading over to Sweet Shoppe Designs.  I fell in love with this new look and the cost is great for all that is included.  I have to say THANK YOU CASSIE for helping me to get past the photo editing portion.  She helped so much and has taught me some things along the way.  I just love the ribbon separator between posts.  This is just such a fun look and the colors are so me.

We have finally finished our back yard.  It has been a long several years but the hydroseed was sprayed last Monday & we have planted the flowers to add some color.  The shed has been done for a few months, the deck restained and the deck furniture cleaned up.  Here are a few pics of our progress.  We now have little baby grass growing.  I am sooooo glad this project is finished.  Now it is just maintenance time.

Thanks for stopping by...I will have more S2G projects for you this week.
