To start off I have two very exciting things to share. I have made my first design team...YEEE HAAWW!!! I am so thrilled to have been chosen by Shirleys 2 Girls. These ladies with attitude are wonderful artists that have a love of fur babies & create lovely digital images. My term is for six months and we will be having a ton of fun that we want you all to join in on. Check us out this Thursday for some Summer fun - just click on the sidebar link.
I have also been "published". Suzanne Dean & Marti Wills have a SWEET crafting publication called Through the Craftroom Door that you can subscribe to. The cost is practically nothing compared to all the great ideas I receive from it. Suzanne & Marti have created a really fun product to everyone. So anyway..I am in their latest July/August issue. I submitted a gift set and now my little ole name has been printed! Who would have thought!!!!

What do you think of my new blog look? I was hopping around one evening and ended on heading over to Sweet Shoppe Designs. I fell in love with this new look and the cost is great for all that is included. I have to say THANK YOU CASSIE for helping me to get past the photo editing portion. She helped so much and has taught me some things along the way. I just love the ribbon separator between posts. This is just such a fun look and the colors are so me.

We have finally finished our back yard. It has been a long several years but the hydroseed was sprayed last Monday & we have planted the flowers to add some color. The shed has been done for a few months, the deck restained and the deck furniture cleaned up. Here are a few pics of our progress. We now have little baby grass growing. I am sooooo glad this project is finished. Now it is just maintenance time.
Thanks for stopping by...I will have more S2G projects for you this week.

Super Sweet 16
Happy Birthday Nic!
Today my son turns 16. That statement alone just makes we want to cry. I don't know why, but it does. None of my birthdays have caused me any issues nor have any of my hubbie's or any of Nic's other birthdays, but this one is. Hard to believe my little guy has grown up and is much bigger than me. I have to stand on my tippie toes to kiss his cheek & he picks me up to give him a hug. I so love the man he is becoming.
I made this simple card for him using one of Mo's images. You can find this image HERE. Tonight after his party, a few of the guys are having a Call of Duty fest. Besides playing football and baseball...this is one of his favorite things to do. He is able to put on his headphones and play with all his friends.
My inspiration for the sketch is from Miss "Dirty Dozen" Suzanne. She used this card layout and I thought it would be nice to try out. I kept the card very simple being it is for a guy. I was going to add buttons but hubby thought our son wouldn't care one way or the other. That is true. He is more interested in what came with it...but that has been in our driveway for several months just waiting for this moment. He is excited to take his test next Saturday. Then a whole new set of worries begin.
Just a perfect image for any teen. Mo has some nice ones for guys & girls. I think I am getting better at using my copic's. What do you think? Can't wait to take an "online" class from Suzanne. She is the best and has some great video tutorials.
Well off to work for me. Lunch is over then it is party prep time. Hope y'all have an excellent weekend.
2009 Puyallup High School Homecoming
Nic and Kelly
What a cute couple don't ya think? She looked lovely in her dress and I really liked the black/white/red combo. They had a great time and enjoyed a great after party.

Wow...he keeps looking older and older. Hard to believe Nic is a sophomore in high school and will be 16 in two months and driving his car that has been sitting in the driveway waiting. I am not ready for the increase in insurance rates nor the worries driving brings with it. The freedom will be great...but can I deal with it!

****Happy Birthday Chelle****
I am just so excited to wish Michelle a Happy Birthday today. One reason is just cuz she is just the best friend anyone could have & she is the sister of my heart. How many people are blessed to still be so close with their friend from their youth? I am one of those people. I met Chelle when I was 8 years old. My family had just moved to a new area of Boise, ID and being an only child my mom suggested I knock on the doors of the houses down my street and see if there were any kids my age. After meeting one boy about a year older, I knocked on another door and the nice lady said she had two daughters. One my age and one a year older.
Here we are.....32 years later and that daughter that was my age is still the best est. We have endured living in separate states; hours of phone calls; letters; summers spent together; going to college together; several boyfriends; marriages; kids; sickness and her divorce. I so wish I could help her through all the illness she is suffering through along with the pain she is enduring. She knows how much she is loved and that she will be healthy and happy again. Here is to a new year and all the wonderful things it will bring her and her kids!!!!!
Me & Chelle at Disneyland in 06. She was in pain but she still smiled.

Adam & Chelle. She had just been through a second surgery & was able to enjoy Disneyland only due to the wheelchair. What a blessing that was for her. The walking would have done her in.
LOVE YA, HUN!!!!

***Happy 20th Anniversary, Sweetie***

Here we are 20 years later with a 6' 3" 15 year old son that has football workouts tonight, baseball lessons tomorrow & Friday and football workouts & camp on Saturday. We were planning a big Hawaii or Mexico trip for our 20th, but with Nic's schedule, the general economy and such we are going to spend some time in Las Vegas during spring break in April. The plane is book, the resort reserved, the baseball tickets in hand (Seattle Mariners vs. Colorado Rockies in Vegas)...I just need to reserve the kennel for Zoom & get a car set up. I am ready for sun, sun, warm weather, some slots & craps tables and more sun. Nic is excited to go in the rides on top of the Stratosphere. Have you seen those rides??? How can any sane person want to do that? The boy has lost it!!!

Super Bowl Sunday
After Nic's basketball game in the morning (they lost by 1 point - & I am sure the scorekeeper didn't give us credit for one of Nic's layups) and a rushed trip to the grocery store we headed off to my brother-in-law's to watch the game. Mark (BIL) is a total Steelers fan. Having been born in Pennsylvania & living there for his first 10 years or so...he has always love the Steelers. Now my husband Steve on the other hand also born in Pennsylvania and living there for 8 years is a Raiders fan.
You can see by the room decorations, that Mark is over the top!!! Here is Nic not looking at me & Steve is learning how to work our new phones. We were debating on the Blackberry storm, but really liked how the Samsung Omnia works.
Steve finally smiling for the camera. I get goofy looks most of the time or he out right hides, so the few I get I cherish.
Nic is ready for the 3-D experience.
Mark, Nic & my step father-in-law Eldon. We called them the 3 stooges. Isn't this room too much. Way too much in my book. I was so hoping to be left home to work in my craft room, but was guilted into coming. I did take my laptop & blog hopped during the game. Not all was lost, but I didn't win anything from my superbowl squares. Oh well.

OMG!!!! My baby is 15!!!!!!!!!
How did this happen? Where did the time
go? I have two super cute
pictures of Nic on my desk at work when he was 6months & 9 months old. Those cheeks were just waiting to be kissed plus his giant brown eyes. What a cutie.....well he turned 15 yesterday.
He is sooo ready to attend drivers training. I have to check into what times these schools have it. He is in the middle of basketball practices and football conditioning workouts. Where do I fit in drivers ed? It just might have to wait until basketball is done, which is fine for me but he isn't that happy about. I took these pictue of him yesterday before he went off to school...what a goof. The haircut it all his idea, but this time around it looks too much like a bowl cut. More layering is needed.

Nic - 9th Grade Kalles Junior High
What a handsome dude!!! Don't you just love the freckles? He gets that from my side of the family. I was a strawberry blonde as a kid but it turned brown & now it is foiled several times a year. Nic has great red in his hair that darkens in the winter & lightens up in the summer. I remembered to force him to get his hair cut before pictures. Last year he was looking pretty shaggy...like he is now. I will win the battle, I hope.

More Deck Pictures
Well I have to say that I have the most talented husband ever. The deck is almost finished, he just needs to build the outdoor kitchen & stair railing on the other side, and Steve has done a super great job. His attention (total, almost annoying) to detail has made this a great outdoor living space. We had very nice weather over the weekend so Steve finished the stair railing on the outside (not as easy as it looks) and completed small stuff. After running Nic & his friend Austin all over on Saturday, I was able to burn all the wood scraps, sweep up the sawdust & dirt from the patio just clean up the backyard. We still have boards & beams that need to be moved or covered before the rain starts but we can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Steve - you Rock!!!

I forgot to tell you Nic scored the only touchdown for his team on Friday. They lost 6 to 12 but he carried that ball over the line. It was a team effort, but being his mom, I will give him the credit!!!
